TREASURE: EYEWEAR PART 2

The sun is out, it's hot, it's officially spring. Another eyewear post is the perfect topic for a sunny Sunday. As you guys already know, I'm obsessed with stunning sunglasses. Today we talk about my most treasured Dior shades, my currently favourite Karl Lagerfeld piece and timeless Gucci glam.

What do Victoria Beckham and I have in common? We both love those sensational Christian Dior Galliano era sunglasses. They are so unbelievably comfortable, plus they cover half of the face which makes them perfect for skiing and traveling. Paris Hilton and Mariah Carey are also big fans. And I love the box, it looks like a CD holder. Remember how Dior used to be so Hip Hop - ish and gangster? Good times... ;)
Karl Lagerfeld 607s

I have seen them like 10 times in Paris and it was love at first sight. Karl Lagerfeld's infamous black shades are definitely my 'glasses of the moment'. They are so simple and perfect. Hands-down, Lagerfeld's people know exactly what they're doing. ;)

VINTAGE TREASURE: EYEWEAR

I decided to wear some vintage shades today, after going through Hamish Bowles videos on Vogue America's YouTube channel. This man genuinely loves fashion and haute couture and I have always admired his work and contribution to fashion journalism. The Vintage hype transformed into an independent industry. There are not only flea markets and shops but also online platforms which focus on exquisite designer pieces from the 20th century. I have a weakness for vintage eyewear. I love the glamour of Valentino shades and the sophistication of Vintage Dior.

SUNDAY MOVIE: THE SEPTEMBER ISSUE

"I had just submitted my first article for one of today's most relevant and provocative magazines, at
least to me: VOGUE." Oh Carrie Bradshaw, you are so right. This is every fashion girl's dream - Working for Vogue. But do we actually realize how much power and soul it takes to create the beauty on those pages? Anna Wintour, Grace Coddington, Hamish Bowles and André Leon Talley work 24/7 in order to make every single reader smile. Legendary photographers and stunning models use all their skills for the magazine's breathtaking editorials.
I keep many Vogue issues from America to Russia and I have an organized boxing system for all the
pictures I cut out starting at the age of 10. Yes, I'm a Vogue-ista. It's the most epic fashion magazine in history. We travel around the world, we get to feel the vibe of the industry, visit the Haute Coutute shows in Paris, meet Karl Lagerfeld and Riccardo Tisci... all that within a few minutes flipping through the magazine. And yes, this industry is not entirely nice and beautiful. There are as many tears and failures as there are Louboutins in the fashion circus. But art is supposed to make people happy, it's supposed to make them think and to inspire them. Thank you Vogue, for inspiring me and bringing me joy month after month. "The September Issue" is obviously a must-have in my DVD collection. I love to use a rainy Sunday to watch the masterpiece Vogue in the making. After all, the massive work process is worth it and being an Editor will always be my dream and goal. This documentary is definitely a good preparation. ;)

Imagine this back in 2007: Kim Kardashian on the cover of Vogue! Hold on, the Playboy cover girl/ reality star/ scandalista? Yes, she can! Kim shines bright like a diamond on the new cover of Vogue America with fiance Kanye West. She's wearing a gorgeous strapless Lanvin wedding gown and her custom made 15 carat diamond engagement ring created by Lorraine Schwartz. The cover is incredibly stunning and flawless. Remember Kim's first wedding on the cover of People, Intouch and co? This is more than an upgrade, this is the ultimate crowning moment. It's a major statement for the iconic magazine. This cover embraces the 21st century's biggest change in the world of fashion: People make the trends.

Surely there was a time when fashion was dictated by a superior dress code, press, dominating labels and even politics. Now it's all about the individual. Celebrities, bloggers, tumblr - We make the trends. Kim is the most talked about celebrity, she's everywhere. Thousands of tumblr pages are dedicated to Kim's style. Kanye is the one and only Nr. 1 when it comes to Man in High Fashion. The caption #WORLDSMOSTTALKEDABOUTCOUPLE speaks for itself. In my opinion this cover is a milestone for the industry, and let's admit it: This will be the best selling Vogue issue of the year. I love it and I'll buy it! ;) Congratulations Kim and Kanye, you truly deserve this. Check out star photographer Annie Leibovitz shooting Kimye and their beautiful princess baby North - LOVE. Paris: An exquisite woman, a dashing young man and a glamorous party. The new Chanel Coco Mademoiselle commercial is featuring Keira Knightley and the star of cinéma russe, my beloved Danila Kozlovsky. We girls spent hours talking about his divine beauty and sensational acting skills. He's perfect, isn't he? Not only Russian women are gorgeous. ;)

Check out Keira's game of seduction directed by Joe Wright. Chanel commercials were always incredibly chic. Remember her Parisian adventures in 2011? I know I repeat myself but... Chanel is everything!

Pharrell's album GIRL is a worldwide hit record, so he's obviously having the time of his life right now. Sir Williams is known for loving his fan community and he's always in search for a unique way to say Thank You. This weekend the Grammy award winning artist started an Instagram movement called #PutYourRobeOn. This little tribute to his album cover invites girls worldwide to put their robes on and post some cool pics.

CHANEL & CO GO FOR CANDY

There are so many different sources of inspiration for fashion designers. Roberto Cavalli is inspired by the beauty and perfection of nature and wildlife. Dolce & Gabbana feel inspired by the unique sexiness of epic Italian women and charming traditional villages.

Now there is one major topic in the Haute Couture world: Candy.
Karl Lagerfeld, who's been high on Cola light for decades, was obviously craving some real sugar. The new Chanel collection is all about 'sweets and treats'. Is the candy trend another 90's tribute and more importantly, what's the message? Is candy trendy? Karl would probably say that, la femme Chanel is only allowed to enjoy some candy when it's part of her outfit. ;)Do you guys remember the 90's sitcom The Nanny? I grew up watching this super fashion loaded hit show. Fran's M&M'S® and Snickers candy wrapper dress is as important for TV fashion history as Serena Van Der Woodsen's Georges Chakra wedding gown.

SPRING FAVOURITES

It's officially spring. The birds sing, the flowers spread their wonderful scent and the sun shines bright. The winter depression is all gone. It's time to focus on this year's spring trends "Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking." Remember this quote? It's the one and only devilish Miranda Priestly.

Fashion:
What is actually new? The shoes! Loafers, pointed slingbacks, Birkenstock and classic avant-gardism - Shoes we haven't seen since 1994. Cher Horowitz used to rock them to school, now they are all over Paris Fashion Week. The pointed 'low heel' was introduced by Valentino with the Kitten-Heels a couple of seasons ago. Now Isabel Marant, TOD's and Fendi feature pointed flats in their current collections, while Dolce & Gabbana perfectly re-created the elegant trend with a heel, adding Sicilian sexiness.

I will wear my flats by Sergio Rossi with a black faux leather mini and a boyish baby blue shirt à la Alexa Chung. All I need is a little more sun and a flawless tan. Oh summer, I just can't wait for you any longer! ;)

Beauty:
Give your face a healthy beautiful glow. During summer I usually only wear mascara, blush and a sparkly gloss. My current favourite is the Artdeco apricot blush (Nr. 10). The colour is so perfect with a little bit of shimmer. The ocean blue turquoise eyeshadow (Nr.23) is so 'Cote d'Azur'.

Music:
Songs from the 90's are all over my summer playlist: Old school hip hop and club music, De La Soul & Gorillaz. Do you feel the vibe? Daft Punk, Le Baron and beach parties - Summer is a gift.

Nicholas Kirkwood is the maitre of the laced up high heel. This futuristic sandal is like a delicate exotic flower. Jimmy Choo offers a row of smaller city bags. We all know that Choo is quality at its finest. The bags are super soft and highly practical. H&M is selling the exact same shape right now, the structured mini purse is summer's designer darling. From Dolce & Gabbana to Azzedine Alaia: Lace is the fabric of this summer!

Gucci is back! The iconic Italian fashion house is going back to basics featuring their signature Boho bag, the Nouveau Fringe. The 'Sienna Miller' style era has its comeback.

People like Raf Simons, Riccardo Tisci and Karl Lagerfeld are the heroes of my generation. The secret of eternal success in the fashion industry is harmony of the old and new. It's just like the Louvre and its futuristic yet timeless Pyramid. The contrast creates the harmony. Christian Dior's name became a couture metaphor for a reason. Simons mission is to keep up the tradition and recognizability while coming up with something entirely new every season. Easy Peasy, for the iconic Belgian designer. Simons' work is brilliant lately and Dior is responsible for major trends of the season. Instagram, the Golden Globes, Paris Fashion Week- everywhere... the flying  pearls. Dior is using pearls in a way we've never seen before: Mise en Dior

#MANCRUSHMONDAY ADRIEN BRODY

Welcome to the beginning of the annual Oscar week! I'm more than excited for all the gowns, jewels and obviously the winners. Will Leo go and get it this time? I hope so! Actually he is the only 39 year old, who already deserves something like a special platinum Oscar. Yes, Leo is my ultimate crush of 2013. The Great Gatsby, Django Unchained, Wolf of Wall Street, seriously just give him that thing! But then there's Matthew McConaughey, who changed his image as an actor with one of the most powerful performances of the decade. And girls, we melt when Christian Bale appears on the screen. So it's still Leo, right? Or is it Christian, or Matthew... But hey, when it comes to the Best Actor in a Supporting Role there is only one, right? Bradley Cooper... or Jared or Jonah ;)

What is your all time favourite Oscar moment? I don't even have to spend a second thinking... Adrien Brody winning the Oscar for his incredible work in Roman Polanski's The Pianist in 2003. This man is everything! He is the most incredible actor I've ever seen on screen. He has the most intense on-camera presence and that face... beautiful. Adrien will always be my number one crush, he's perfect!

Girls, do you need more convincing arguments? Just check him out on any red carpet. He rocks the finest suits, the most luxurious watches and everything is just flawless from head to toe. Brody looks like a masterpiece. I love a man who loves to be the best version of himself. Only a man like that deserves a woman who does the same. I know that the '03 Oscar was definitely not the last one. We just need another legendary director, a good plot and the perfect role. Maybe The Grand Budapest Hotel? The Pianist was his movie, nobody could have done it better. He was also excellent in Wes Anderson's The Darjeeling Limited, the 90's thriller Oxygen and ... Manolete. Manolete is probably one of my favourite movies ever. Honestly I'm not into all those over sugared romantic dramas but this one is unbeatable. The gorgeous beauty Penelope Cruz, the setting, the costume design, the music... A true story told in the most beautiful and artistic way. This movie way highly Oscar worthy. Oh Adrien, vous êtes incroyable! ;)
Will you guys be up all night? I see you guys tomorrow discussing the best/ worst dressed. On which side will Steven Tyler end up this time? ;)
