XOXO - 5 YEARS OF GOSSIP GIRL FASHION

So many looks we stole, so many hours we spent in cafes discussing the plot like it was a part of our life... so many joyful moments in front of the TV- 5 years of Gossip Girl! I remember exactly what I thought after the first episode. I was like "Seriously? After O.C. and Sex and the City, do you guys really think that this will last?" I ended up watching every episode at least 10 times and I spent hours on thefashionspot.com in order to check out the show's looks. Gossip Girl turned out to be the obsession of the decade! We got hooked. What is the secret ingredient of a hit show like this one? Boys & couture! There is no way to imagine the show without the glow of a Lady Dior or the shine of Nate Archibald's smile. How often did you say "All I want for Christmas is Chuck Bass"? You know it! ;) This show taught us how to channel our inner queen B or rockstar Jenny Humphrey. How many designers were introduced to the commercial market by Eric Daman? The genius behind the signature Gossip Girl style enriched my knowledge of fashion and took it to the next level. Andrew Gn, Jenny Packham, the glorious beauty of Marchesa Couture... that is all Gossip Girl. So for the sake of the end of an era... Here are my favourite looks: Epic!
1. Blair Waldorf:
I have to start with Queen B. To be honest I loved her right from the start. Yes, she was a manipulative b**** from time to time but she was also a great friend and unbeaten fashionista. Blair Waldorf is a masterpiece. I had no clue how to rock her wardrobe in the village called Munich. But the art of being "Queen B" is not only an Upper East Side myth. You can do it too. I remember reading about girls going crazy at Falke and Wolford in order to pimp their school uniforms with some luxurious colourful stockings and chic headbands. Guess who set the trend?
My beloved Blair... What were her most unforgettable fashion moments according to moi?
1. One dress I couldn't forget was... black... silk... ballet... showdown... breathtaking... Valentino! Imagine Cannes, Vincent Cassel, a bottle of Dom... and you - looking like Tchaikovsky's black swan. Blair accessorized it with Chuck and some sparkly Harry Winston. Perfection! A dress so dark and dramatic that only drama queen Blair could pull it off with such grace.
Season 1, B's Bday, episode 8:
2. I remember sitting in a chic restaurant during a hot summer day when I saw the first stills from Gossip Girl's fourth season: In PARIS! Can you believe my excitement being the greatest Parisian fanatic? ;) When I saw Blair looking sweeter than a Laduree macaron in this Moschino I knew exactly how to dress for my next holiday in the French capital.
Season 4, Paris adventures, episode 1:

3. Every fashion victim knows that a New York fashionista wears Marc by Marc. I know this look is very "unspectacular" for the Waldorf fashion circus but I think that Giorgio Armani was absolutely right when he claimed that a woman in all white is the ultimate embodiment of luxury. A look we will never forget: All white @ The annual Hamptons White Party. Thank you Marc Jacobs.
Season 2, hello Hamptons, episode 1:
Serena Van Der Woodsen:
I love Serena's style! I love one particular thing about it- The touch of 'too much'. Her skirts tend to be a little too short and her blond magnificent hair a little too bouncy: Super vamp Serena is the hottest girl in NYC. Every dude goes "OMG" when this gorgeous blond enters a room and every girl goes "OTB" (Oh that B****). I adore S and I always will, she has the ultimate killer closet, drop-dead Louboutins and the most beautiful love story with Lonely Boy (not so lonely anymore) Dan Humphrey.
1. The gold Pamela Dennis dress is a sensation in the history of TV fashion. It is so royal and baroque and yet so young and modern. It's perfect for Serena. The golden girl, princess in the gilded cage, the queen S... in a breathtaking gown only she could rock like this.
Season 1, S&D lovestory, episode 10:
2. You have to be the genius Ralph Lauren to combine something so soft and girly like a pastel yellow flower print with black statement details. When I first saw this dress I was like "Hold on it's either horrible or absolutely stunning, but I don't know it yet". Now I know: It's absolutely incredible, it's a dress like a Dali: It requires a moment of proper consideration...
Season 1, wedding, episode 18:
3. This dress... it made me cry. Or maybe it was it the scene? Anyway, it's brilliant! I have nothing more to say: Serena in Georges Chakra Wedding Couture marrying the love of her life. Dear George, no more Lanvin - I think I want to get married in a GC! ;)
Season 6, bye bye xoxo, episode 10:

Jenny Humphrey:
"Oh I don't like J, she's so annoying." You can love or hate that chick! But it's still an obsession. I love Little J. I mean , she's been through a lot. And most importantly: The CRAZIEST style evolution ever. The sweet talented 14 year old designer became the kind of girl who sits on Marilyn Manson's lap in his tour bus. There were certain looks she pulled off... which were to-die-for amazing! And as I love the lucky 7... I'd like to make this the "look to remember Nr.7"- Jenny in Andrew Gn.
This dress is the love of my... November 2009. A goddess in black! (Coat: Moschino)
Can you believe it's over? No more GG? Well we still have so many episodes to re-watch. ;)
My favourite moment is definitely the last scene of the final episode: Serena and Dan getting married! I love this house, seeing them all together one more time... oh and Georgina and Jack TOGETHER! PERFECT! You know what I loved the most: The song! They used the same track that was featured during the Sex and the City finale! We got the love! ;)

XOXO
M ;)
