Lindsay Lohan. I was five years old when I watched a film called Parent Trap. This is when I started to love rainy London streets, classic tweed costumes, Oreos with peanut butter, poker, yacht dinners (not that often practiced but the thought itself is beautiful, right?), Napa California and... Lindsay Lohan!
She inspired me so much during my childhood. Back then, when she was famous for Girls Club, dating LA's most eligible bachelors and her incredible eye for fashion. I loved her girlyness, the glamour, the mix of Chanel and Matthew Williamson. She was gorgeous, wasn't she?! I spend hours going through her street style shots and searching for the labels of the pieces, her party pics, and her stunning beach wear looks. But Lindsay went trough the greatest ups and downs during the last couple of years. It shows one more time, how fashion reflect a lot of the inner self: Lately we saw former fashion it-queen Lohan kind of lost, wrecked and broken. But even though her over the top excess seriously harmed her reputation, relationships and most seriously her health, I believe in the strong human ambition. And I truly hope that she will make her way back on the top. I wish her great roles, good press and admiration of fashionistas all over the world for being the star in the front rows again. We've seen her doing SNL, interviews and heard about new big movies coming up. Let's hope she'll make it perfectly work. LiLo, to me the stunning chick called Lindsay is still there, and you'll make it all! ;)
So let's get back to fashion: Her fashion is thrilling! I love how she works it all. Every colour, every genre, every label and every day totally new again! I picked out some of my all time favo' Lindsay looks. Let's get inspired by her for S/S 2012 and tribute her comeback by that. ;)
1. Beach Queen:
As I said, her beach fashion is divine! I love the colours, the accessories and the playfulness. She knows how to go for some funky high fashion grunge, some label it-girl glam and some American hipster chic. Beach can be so fun, popped with the right outfit!) 2. Night out Rockstar:
She never forgets her killing heels, she rocks a mini with some gorgeous boots and makes it outstanding with the a stunning bag or a cool fedora. This girl knows how to perfectly match the occasion: From classy snobby in NYC to cool and loose in LA. 3. Street Style Master:
I love her high heels-beanie-designer purse looks. They always work! The other fashion bomb? Her summer looks with ripped denim, funky boots and cool eye wear. She rocks everything from Topshop to Fendi and has a lot to choose from... the majority of Lindsay candids is either in or close the designer boutiques. Haute Couture to the street? A classic Lohan!
4. Premiere, Gala, After Show...
Shawty loves to party, we know that. And here again, she also knows how to look like the ultimate eye candy: Super beautiful for a gala in Cannes, super American It-girl for a Premiere and absolutely gorgeous at an award after party.
5. Designer Darling:
Karl Lagerfeld, Viktor&Rolf, Tommy Hilfigher, Donna Karan, Matthew Williamson... every designer has a thing for Lindsay! How else should it be? This stunnig smile, these flashing eyes and this unstoppable love for their creations! Posin' for the photographer with big KL is kind of a regular already. Loved for real, for fashion, for LiLo! ;)
6. Shooting Star:
Her editorials and covers are always the best ones. The camera loves her. Sure she is blessed with incredible beauty but still... it's not every bodies easy game to look so hot on pics. And she always does! Whether it's for Rankin covering Elle, for a paparazzi or for the photographers during events... She just has it! THE glance! Terry Richardson loves to make her a queen. I love him in general and in particular, for being a non stop loyal admirer of Lindsay. And come on, no one makes it better than Richardson! L'Enfant terrible. ;)
So guys, let us never give up on our childhood heroes and idols, let's grow individually and learn from their mistakes... but still.. let's worth them for what we loved them for. ;) I guess she's on a good way... she was already on a good way a couple of times... so let's hope there'll never be a backslide for her. I <3 U, L. Behave! ;)
I believe this could be a great role of a lifetime: Lindsay as Goddess Elizabeth Taylor!
Good morning guys, it's a stunningly beautiful sunny day in Munich. So before I'm hitting the city, I decided to dedicate a post to my current music/ fashion obsession: Theophilus London. It was a couple of years ago, when I discovered him. He used to rock after parties during the fashion weeks. The moment the world got addicted to him was gorgeously stated by a making-of video of super bombshell Lindsay Lohan going hard during a photo shoot for the Muse Magazine. This became an iconic moment in the history of fashion photography. So incredibly hot, seductive and so wrong and forbidden. A perfect fashion scandal! But the secret essence which made this masterpiece, is Theo's song Oops.
This is when we started fallin' for his talent. A new wave of music, super thrilling and super excessive. Googling T.H.E.O.P... we realised that it's not only a sensation of music but also of fashion. Besides the fact that this bad boy moves like a genius and flows the beat through the whole room, he totally owns the tricky art called couture. A real fashionisto! The glasses became his signature piece, popped with funky gold and killing sneakers. True, this sounds like a standard West, but T rocks it on a whole new level: While Beau Kanye does it more offensive with a note of high fashion sophistication, T makes it more Marvin Gaye like. Which means he adds a little bit of funk and unusualness to his looks. He does it all from leather to suede, to silk to studs. He loves to customize his pieces in order to make them for real unique and magnificent.
Michael Jackson and Prince influence his music and style. So defining his genre is pretty much impossible. ;) There is some hip hop, rap elements, funk, pop, post punk, electro and and and. This man has no boundaries. When I see him I feel like he's MJ's grandchild, Marvin's nephew, MIA's brother and Kanye's godchild. (only hypothetical of course ;) ) Guys, it's highly recommended to check his tracks out: Lisa, Oops, Last Name London, I Want U, Love Is Real... just hit YouTube. ;) My recent obsession? Big Spender! OMG this is the track of the month and I'm already able to say that this is a 2012 Top 10 bomb! I love the instrumental... so legendary and bad like a 1961 secret NY night out with with JF.Kennedy. Beautiful, right? ;) I love it!
This boy is so killing! He managed to feature some Jordans for Chanel, rocks the fedora and seduces with vintage fur. Let's love him dolls! A man who has a wardrobe, I'd totally go for rocking myself, is just worth more respect. And it still looks super cool and masculine! TL we can't reject ourselves
Snapback, Skinny pants, Gold, Blazer, Fur, Funk, Colour, Jordans, Labels, Prints... LONDON!
Hope you adore his flow now! ;)
xxM
Later today... my all time female fashion icon is back! And I love it! LiLo!)
<3 (pics from vk.com official TL group)
Guess you guys already realised that I'm totally a summer girl! ;) I just can't help it. To me this year's summer means: excessive fun fashion, heat, long awaited use of my eye wear, beginning of a new chapter in my life, graduating A levels, expanding my career, getting ready for sea vacation and simply enjoying every single second of sun- and moonshine. Thinking of fashion related press, there are a couple of special events coming up, which make the summer excitement reach a whole new level: May: MET Ball, end of May/ June: celebs hit Côte d'Azur, the Cannes Film Festival, the amfAR's Gala etc etc AND ... upcoming... The Music Festival Season! Are you guys thrilled, or what?! ;)I go through all the pics from Glastonbury, V and Wireless, 'cause it's not a secret that the British know how to dress. The it-crowd: There are always the Geldof chicks, Kate Moss, Lily Allen, Alexa Chung and sometimes some Ronson. Prince Harry is known for rocking the Wireless Festival regularly. Last year's V festival was popped by Rihanna while Ronson did the best Glastonbury show ever performing "Version" 2007.
But my all time festival-favourite is definitely Coachella! Guys, it's officially Coachella Time again! April brings us some hot festival fashion. I don't really know why this is the One to me, maybe it's because of the Californian heat, maybe it's the popping colourful American hipster fashion or maybe it's the slight hip hop atmosphere. 'Cause we all remember Jay and B popping the crowd in 2010. The Kanye show was one of THE most significant music/ fashion highlights last year. His "Stronger" performance ended up as the most watched video on my IPod. (check below, the first couple of seconds are so killing, no words!) The rush and the indescribable vibe of his energy is powerful enough to make thousands of singing and dancing people go cray! ;) We should probably not even start discussing his bomb Celine look or the Amber diss (but still, both should be googled)). His perfect appearance was discussed by every single fashion blog world wide while fan forums from all around the globe called for him to play again this year. This should have been a JayxKanye Watch the Throne header. Unfortunately the only way to see Kanye @ Coachella this year is in the backstage area. Well whatever the reason was... maybe they just couldn't spot all the attention on the same artists again. But come on, it was the album of the decade!
So the choice was made: Who's about to represent some Hip Hop Flow this year? Snooooop! Yeah it's Snoop and Dr. Dre ladies and gentlemen. Are we all excited? Hell yes! I'm also super interested in The Black Keys, they will add the needed rock heat. ;)
A good music festival like Coachella, is comparable to a NBA game: The fashion on the seats (here: in the crowd/ backstage) is as hot as a Paris Fashion Week Front Row. Especially the Californian equivalent is known for the most insane mixes: We go for batik, leo, neon, headbands, luxury label boom and extraordinary hippie chic. Watch out for Pharrell, Rihanna, the Hilton sisters, LiLo, Usher, Vic's Secret models and and and! This is a real fashion festival, girls! ;) There's nothing cooler than being surrounded by such stunning dressed people while there are super popping tracks playin' live in the background.
Coachella- like Woodstock, just better ;) (btw it's a nude bra, a neon one would be perfect, yellow or something))
Hope you guys enjoyed it ;)
All the best guys, and never forget to rock!)
xx M
I can not imagine a week without my IPod. I mean, I'm such a music-addict. Whether I'm walking down the street, hitting the gym or getting ready at home, music paints my life with colour. There's nothing hotter than a good fast beat, nothing more relaxing than some smooth Drake and nothing more heating up than a bomb new Kanye track. Talking about my favourite genre, I don't even know where to start. I listen to pretty much everything. I love these old jazzy tunes from the early 20's, soul and blues from the 50's, 60's Stones tracks, Marvin Gaye, of course Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey and and and. But then there was this decade of music that blew my mind: 90's! Biggie, De La Soul, Q Tip... HIP HOP! I adore hip hop, there's nothing more entertaining, more seductive and more fun than that. That's how I became a hip hop chick. Everyone who knows my blog or me in person knows that I'm... let's say interested ;) in Kanye West. I just see him to be a music/ fashion god. Douchebag? Yes, but still a god. Then there's Queen B and King J, we all adore them right?
Music is such a gift. Every moment in life becomes so much more intense with the right song to it. My blog is all about the fashion and beauty in life, right? ;) I'm ready to build the bridge... between my greatest passions: music and fashion. These guys own it! (after the model post we need again some man-action ladies ;) ) Are you guys ready too? Let's go for it dolls...´
Mark Ronson:
In 2008 I opened the Vanity Fair magazine and saw the most attractive guy in the world: Skinny fitting black Gucci suit, tiny tie, gorgeous lips, Bambi eyes and some Ray Ban Wayfarers. I'm like: "Who are you, Beau?" And then he turned out to be British... gosh.... MARK RONSON! Maria's about to convert to Judaism in order to marry the hot music producer? Totally yes! ;) Then I found out he has Russian roots. He is like the image of a blues producer in the late 50's. His work with the wonderful Amy will remain adored by us for ever. There was only one like her...
And there's only one like him! The way he grooves on stage is so incredibly fascinating. I became the greatest Ronson fan in Germany. For real! ;) I went out, exited like the 7 years old me for a barbie doll, in order to get all of his albums! I even got "Here Comes The Fuzz". It's his first official record and there were like 5 people including me and Mark himself who actually bought it. ;) His first smash? Ooh Wee! Remember? )) Then he switched his image... I was shocked. The Mark I used to love, the classy, handsome, fun, hipster god became a white haired trashy young version of Karl Lagerfeld. Now that 'look' is gone - Beau is back! ;) Ladies, don't be disappointed but he's married now. (Check my FashionxLove post ) But that doesn't change the fact that his musical talent is still way too underrated. He's the perfect example of how a great record turns into a great outfit. MusicxFashion? MarkxMark!
Fav' songs: No One Knows, Toxic, Touch The Sky, Stop Me, Back to Black (whole album), Could Shoulder (Adele, produced and co-written by MR), Ooh Wee, all Daniel Merriweather
Marilyn Manson:
Fashion is endless! And even if there are certain directions I wouldn't consider for my wardrobe, I still love to take a look at them! Marilyn Manson is a great artist! I love his music, I love the head to toe staging of himself, I love his painting and I love to watch his interviews. He's hilarious! There are many weird rumors going around about him. That he eats children for example. LOL The world is definitely paranoid! ;) We should rather take a look at his perfect fashionxmusic matching. This man is a piece of art himself. The military suit, the gothic boots, the strange haircut, the insane make up and this, I admit, quite scary glance: It all makes him, let's say... highly visible. His greatest fashion period? Well, that's easy: MarilynxDita! They were iconicly beautiful together. The beauty and the beast. It's like Snow White fell in love with the son of the evil witch instead of the prince. A dark fairytale as beautiful and dramatic as a new collection's Alexander McQueen gown. We were all thrilled to see them hitting fashion week. So sad they broke up. Well let's tribute this fantastic artist and his extraordinary fashion, that inspires millions of young fashionistas all over the world, with some stunning pics.
Fav' songs: Heart Shaped Glasses, Tainted Love, Leave A Scar
Sean Combs
Sean Combs? Fur, gold, diamonds and eye wear! This man is the image of Hip Hop to me. He's so legendary, so fun and so party. ;) I adore his music, but this Diddy Dirty Money constellation was not his best idea, I guess.) Still: This man is a great writer, performer and women loving bloke. Is he still playin' around with Cassie? At least they showed up together shopping in NYC and in Paris @ KW's fashion show, right? Diddy must be a great shopping buddy and an awesome lover. He dated JLo, Cameron and I bet there was something going on with Kimmy K. Holding up a glass of rosé, wearing a white Alaia dress, sparkly Loubis and some drop dead hot Chloe eye wear? The perfect girl's Diddy White Party outfit. Are you dolls getting ready? ;)
Fav' songs: I Need A Girl, I'll Be Missing You, Tell Me, Nasty Girl and and and.....!
Michael Jackson:
Hero, Legend, Music Icon! And all with a capital! I'm the wrong one to talk about MJ controversy, this drives me nuts. We don't know anything about the stuff going on behind his doors. But one thing I know for sure: No one drives such a rush through my body as a MJ song. I'm quite known for doing a very funny Dirty Diana version (without any alcohol involved, I'm just crazy like that LOL).
He set some really significant fashion trends... fashion evergreens. The fedora, the hair even, the glove, the slippers&socks combo and the military jacket are a few examples. As much as I get excited by Chris Brown moves, nobody did, does or will ever do it like Jackson. He's just from another world. I believe his music is gift heaven gave us after all the wars and hurt on the world. Music can change the universe, and Michael tried to remind us of that. May you rest in peace! <3
Fav' songs: EVERY SINGLE F****** SONG, but OK: Billy Jean, Jam, Dirty Diana, Man In The Mirror... :)
Pharrell Williams:
He looks like an Egyptian prince! He so indescribably beautiful to me, I just can't express it. At the latest as we saw him underneath the hot shower, his body and tattoos (why the hell did he removed them?! ;)), the water dripping on his back and then this voice... Hypnotizing! I am so in love with him, I don't even know what to say. He's like Tom Cruise, it seems like he just doesn't age... he's 38! WOW! But let's talk music: He is a genius in composing, writing, singing and smiling of course. ) When I read his name in a song title, I just can't wait for his appearance in the upcoming video. It's always show-stealing and super fashionable! P, you're the prince yesterday, today and forever. The Neptunes hoodie is already on the way from the States. So excited to show my love for his work to the world. ;) We all adore him, right? He brings the dirty dog out. ;)
Fav' songs: Hypnotize U, Hot'n'Fun, Pass the C., Lapdance (of course!) etc etc etc
Kanye West:
I wish he had a lot of nicknames, so that I could variate a bit. ;) Kanye, is the one. Wanna now when I fell in love with him? Gold Digger! Damn, that boy can move, that boy has style and that music is banging. Since that I'm one of 1000... Kanye loving fashion chicks. I know all of his masterpieces. All of the videos and of course... all of the outfits. We went through Kanye Stronger and Alexis, Kanye Love Lockdown and Amber and Kanye That's My Bitch and Kim(?). No album is like the one before, but they all are to die for. KW, I keep it short, 'cause I bet my ass that your name will be in every single big post I'll do.
Fav' songs: Watch The Throne (hands down, best album ever), Stronger, Gold Digger, Diamonds from Sierra Leone, Runaway, Power, Heartless ...
Adam Levine:
Well I couldn't stop laughing when I saw him jumpin' around in his tank top at the Victoria's Secret Show, that was a bit of ridiculous. ;) But I want to be honest, speaking of guys: I like douchebags, and I don't know why. He is so damn talented and so self-addicted that it's starting to get amusing. I love Maroon5, always did, always will. Maroon5 is like ... hooking up with a hot NY hipster in his West Side apartment with nothing but 200 pairs of shoes, designer clothes, a giant flat screen and a big bed with a Union Jack coating. You get the image, right dolls? Wake Up Call, Makes Me Wonder... bomb tracks! We all love how he raises an eyebrow, how he moves his body with the guitar and we are all addicted to his style. Biker boots, leather jacket, tank ... all tattooed Beau. How could anyone not love him? Oh and this voice... gosh! Adam you're definitely in my zone! (N in P is playin' in the background right now. ;))
Fav' songs: Wake Up Call, Makes Me Wonder, This Love, She Will Be Loved, Bang Bang, Give Me A Little More, Get Back In My Life, Moves Like Jagger
Daniel Merriweather:
What a killing voice! We're melting to your sounds Dan. Mark's close friend and super talent Daniel Merriweather is the perfect Australian Beau moves to NY kind of hipster. His music is so beautiful. His fashion? Ray Ban shades, loose denim shirt and prints like "My Bitch gets money" which remind us of his hip hop background. We adore his pureness, his smile and the way he makes the crowd pop during some juicy festivals. Merriweather I adore you!
Fav' songs: Stop Me, Water And A Flame, Impossible, Change
Theophilus London:
This guy used to heat up after-parties at the London, Berlin or New York Fashion Week. He turned out to be my greatest discovery. He's still quite an insider and that makes him so hot. His beats are so different, so new and yet so seductive. His style? Well true, 70% of the guys in NY Soho walk around like that, but he still does it in his own way. Extraordinary old school fashion with the perfect touch of LDN night life flow. He's so good, I couldn't reject myself. Check him out, now! ;)
Fav' songs: Oops, I Want U For Myself, Last Name London
Drake & Young Money:
Oh Drake. Is there anyone sweeter than him? No, I don't think so, I know like a billion of girls who think the same. He's so smooth , soft and yet he can be so rough, masculine, sexy and ... gangsta. His music changed a lot in my life and it changed me as a person. It really did. His style is just like his sounds: Perfect boyfriend look. Another Young Money Bomb? Lil Wayne, bitch! ;) Watching some NBA action he always pops the seats with stunning sneakers and super hot appearance. This boy is rocking it hard. We get wild to his sounds and inspired by his fashion. Let it rock babies! Tyga: Love you bloke! Lil' bad ass boy, big talent, hip fashion... I go for it!
Foreplay: Drake, Action: Tyga, Second Round: Lil Wayne ;P
Fav' songs: Take Care (whole album), Closer, Best Thing..., John, Right Above It, How To Love, Make It Nasty, Rack City, Diamond Life
Again I could go on for hours... ;)
Dolls, grab your iPod/ iPhone whatever and let the music carry you. Thank you honeys for reading, and I hope you like it! Any suggestions for the next article what do you want Fashioria to write about? ;)
xx M
"Maria loves the Kardashians." Oh really? ;) I admit, I'm kind of addicted to their shows. What I love about them? They are funny, entertaining and there's just this certain something about every single one of them. Kris loves to take everything over and be the I get 10%- alpha dog. What I adore about Rob is that he just comes up with totally unexpected statement when the girls fight. And Bruce... well he always looks "surprised". ;) I truly love Bruce he's such a good-hearted person.
Surely the girls (and their clothes) are the main reason for my obsession. I like Khloe so much. She's strong, funny, stunning and gosh, her jewellery and bags are just too gorgeous! (Lanvin, Balenciaga and lots of Hermes))) Khloe and Lamar are perfect for each other.
But this post is supposed to be mainly about my favourite spin-off: Kourtney and Kim take NY! There are three fashion-lovers on that show. Well obviously Kourt, Kim and... Scott! ;) Kim: Kim is... Kim! I never understood why people were hating on her or calling her stupid (Jon Hamm this one's addressed to you! No I still love you hun, it's all fine ;) ). What for? She's ambitious, hard working and makes money with every passing hour. The other thing that is admirable about her is the perfect femininity. Heels, dresses, skirts, chunky jewellery... we can do it all! Ladies, that's the gift that comes with being a woman. Dressing fashionable, stunning and simply seductive! I love the fact that she's unafraid of figure hugging outfits and that she feels comfortable and and looks gorgeous 24/7. Kim's numerous Birkins, her killer booties, pumps and stilettos and the signature hip&elegant leggings-blazer combos are rocking the show! As soon as the sun goes down, Kimmy K throws on her Herve Leger bandage dress and her Daffodile Loubis in order to thrill the Big Apple. It's impossible for me to name her best look. 'Cause the truth is, Kim gives her best in terms of fashion every single day. And that's exactly what makes her such a bombshell. All of the pics are obviously taken in NY. Exept for the first one... I jut adore the outfit!))) Check out the Ciara and Kim pic: How stunning are these chicks? Kim rocking Loubis and Ciara works some Zanottis. <3
Kourtney: Kourtney is my favourite Kardashian! She's so natural, fun and beautiful in every way. She's a great business woman, a wonderful mother and the loveliest girlfriend. The oldest Kardashian sister is the ultimate fashion master of the family. She represents my image of a fashionista the most, 'cause every outfit looks like it has a theme or is inspired by a popping decade. Kourt looks always super tasteful: Perfect colour-matching, ideal mix of high street and designer clothing and the most fitting eye catchers. Kourt, you own it doll! I'm so in love with her girly playfulness. She manages to keep that up by visiting the Juicy Couture Flagship Store to get some glamorous fur coats and dresses. Then she remind us of her fashion maturation by walking around with some Chanel classics.
To me, fashion should be like a fabulous party: Inspired by good music, totally mixed, sexy, hip, classy and simply a hell of a lot of fun! ;) Kourt your NY style is like the perfect trendy party in a legendary Upper West Side club!
Scott: Her boyfriend Scott is like the most funniest guy on the show. I'm obsessed with his style. He's so dandy like. I love that! Somewhere between super skinny shiny 70's disco pants and over-sized 90's hip hop clothes, guys forgot about the beauty of a classic tuxedo. Scott looks like a bottle of Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque: Prestige, upscale and a bit of over the top. From time to time, he tended to get loose and popped it like a G6, but at least he did that looking super stylish. ;)
His stunning suits are majorly custom, though he keeps it sometimes civil, putting on some modest Gucci loafers. I'm pretty sure he's Eric Daman's number one inspiration for dressing Chuck Bass. Scott is responsible for the renaissance of trends like the paisley, the velvet slippers and obviously the cane. Remember Adrien Brody rockin' a cane at the premiere of his movie Hollywoodland, back in 2006? No one even credited that. (AB is my greatest love, don't get me wrong ;) ) But Scott is just so much of a fashion victim that there's no way not to talk about his accessories. I loved the cane-episode (ep. 6). The way Scott modeled around with the cane in the store is priceless. I could google him all day long. His looks are fab', such a hilarious pimp bloke. It's good that we see him with his cellphone, otherwise you could assume that a time machine dropped him in our decade. ;) But you know what, I think that he still is down to earth deep inside. It's just visible every single time he gets cheesy with Kourt. <3 They are the most perfect style supplementation for one the other. That's what I was talking about in my FashionxLove post: Fashion becomes so much more beautiful and flashing when it's apportioned on two lovebirds. ;) Look at Mason Dash Disick, their cutie pie son. ;) LOL @ Scott on the tiger! )))
Kanye: Oh, I almost forgot! There's another fashion icon on the show, at least in the first season. It's so insane, I can fell my heart beating double time typing right now... Kanye West. I will never forget this moment in the first episode. Kanye enters their store DASH. Just look at him: This black cashmere Burberry Prorsum peacoat, these bomb Gucci Aviators and this don't give me that look b****- smile. That was not his last appearance ladies! He showed up for a second time. Looking super stunning again in some khaki coloured British Couture.
You wanna spend an enjoyable fashion and life-teaching (more or less))) Sunday afternoon? Put on your tracksuit, get some snacks (not propagating anything unhealthy ;) ) and have fun watching some fashionable Armenians in the States. Get inspired! We used to say "get Carried away" watching Sex and the City. Though I love this fashion evergreen, we have to admit that this is a new generation. So "get Karried away". It's all Kardashian "Ks" now. ;)
I promised to show you guys the white bag in some Marni action, and here it is!))) The other star of the shoot? The MarnixH&M hat! I feel like a Chinese farmer ready to cook some rice when I wear it. LOL
I think we all have, what Carrie B calls The Naked Dress. A dress that makes us feel like we are showing way too much, but still nothing makes us feel more seductive. My one is not that "naked" actually. ;) This baby is designed by the great Karl Lagerfeld. It's out of his collaboration with Wolford. I love that it's so soft, so fitting and that it forces me to do some push ups. ;)
Have an amazing after work dolls <3
xxM
"Labels or Love?" Remember that Fergie song? It's not like "I ain't looking for love", of course I do! We all do, right? But this other "L" will always make me smile... LABELS. These great fashion houses are more than a name. They are history. A lot of people think that spending 1500 bucks on a Chanel 2.55 is ridiculous. But this bag means so much more. When I look at it, I see Coco in her Ritz suite. I see her designing it, while she smokes seductively a cigarette and gets her coffee brought in by a young handsome French page boy. Then I see these stunning women: Old money from Moscow to New York visiting Paris in order to get the new masterpiece. The next vision that comes to my mind? Me sitting in a cafe in Monte Carlo, putting the ringing phone out of MY Chanel purse and going like: "Oh Hedi, how are you? Can't wait to see you again in NY next week at the YSL party!" ;)
Once I watched a documentary on Karl Lagerfeld. It takes more than 100 hours, 25 workers, countless details and one Karl, to manufacture ONE SINGLE Haute Couture piece! That's why these clothes represents dreams, hopes, quality, visions, statements and plenty of work. Gosh if I could, I'd never leave the Maximilian street here in Munich. ;) I love to dress up on a Sunday morning, go out and stare at the windows of these great flagship stores.
Labels, you're my love! ;) Girls, it's not enough to be able to name them. Fashion needs to be studied. The real magic is behind the label's name. It's the talent of the creative director, the work of the managers, the beauty of the materials and the history of the house that makes a real "Label".
BUT... here comes the big "but": Well of course the price. For some lucky and hardworking it's not an issue, for me a student living in one of the most expensive cities in the world, it is. ;)
And know H&M comes into play. I was a bit too young to realise the meaning of the KarlxH&M collaboration back in 2004. Getting older, I started realising that there are so many ways to get your hands on designer clothes without becoming Greek. ( lol, ok these jokes get old I admit it ;) )
One possibility is offered by my favourite Swede, H&M. I love H&M, I live there. ))) No, but seriously I visit the store like 5 times a week and rarely leave without a shopping bag.
Every fashion victim has the chance to get some labels now. I call it "Designer Thursday". Once, sometimes twice a year, H&M becomes the center of attention.
I will never forget my first time... It was Jimmy Choo. I was standing there together with like one billion people, it was cold, the mood was tense. The crowd is divided in various coloured bracelets. I was a sexy bright shade of grey. ;) That means that I'm one of the first to enter the store. Then there it was, the moment. The scared girl opens the door. Her hands are shaking. It felt like slow motion.) And then... they RUN! OMG! I did what I always do: I started laughing, though that was nohow funny. The woman behind me pulls my hair in order to get more forward. Well she shouldn't have done that... ;) Ok let's go on: I'm grabbing everything I can get, any size, any piece. Than I'm meeting my mum on the second floor to show her what I got, and see what she got. The second floor was sooo quite and so empty. The perfect place to try the stuff on and laugh about the insanity downstairs.
To be honest, I do it all online now. But I think every girl should go through this experience. It's officially a fashion war! ;)
My mum still tends to go, and then she tells me all about it.) Thanks for being like that my love. <3
I'm always thrilled to see the new collaborations. Thank you H&M, for making it possible for us to wear a piece of Donatella, Jimmy, Matthew and Alber. <3
So here are my buys (I always keep the bag, the tag, the box... it's so much more beautiful in my closet that way ;) )
1. Jimmy Choo:
LOVE the dress, the shoes & the bag and used them with pleasure. But for some reason I never wore the top... I will this year, I promise ;)
2. Matthew Williamson:
I rocked the Yalta Beach in the bikini, and the glasses of course ;P
Clutch and necklace: All time must-have
The scarf is priceless!
3. Lanvin:
Lanvin and me... that's a different story ;) I'll make a post on that. These two dresses are killing! I wore them once. It's the kind of piece you wear only a couple of times, on a very special occasion. Can't imagine me without the Kanye shades and the clutch.
4. Versace:
Ok I left a lot of cash for Donatella. ;) But I love Italian couture! Italians and Russians are very alike. The jewellery is so banging! But I had to return the earrings, they are way too heavy! But the rings, bags and bracelets are so worth it. <3
MOSCOW. The capital of the world. There's no city with more rush, more thrill or more seduction. Remember the movie Alfie (when Jude Law was hot ;) )? Alfie said: "The most beautiful women live in Manhattan." No boy, they live in Moscow. Stunning long legged beauties walking down the street like it's a Roberto Cavalli runway, that's Moscow! The reason for that? Girls from every corner of Russia seek the capture of the big city. There's no place in Russia with more perspective and more danger. But the chance, even the thought of becoming one of the only, is worth it to pack the bag and to simply go ahead. These girls and the "Lorraine Schwartz Generation" (that's how I call the present oligarchy... desired, expensive and extravagant just like LS jewellery... the old money would be the "Cartier Generation") are responsible for the unbelievable fashion boom during the last couple of years. Every label is available in Moscow, every designer who counts in the industry was there and everything is worn by these brave fashionistas. Last year, Moscow hosted Alber, Karl, D&G, Pharrell and many more. What I love about the Moscow Style? The infinity. I mean Paris is known for Zadig Voltaire-wearin' hipsters with classy YSL allure, the New York citizens are simply hip and cool, the London crowd is all avant-garde, while the people of Stockholm are in love with pure clean fashion with geometric colour blocking. But Moscow has it all. Not only represented by little groups, but as a part of one giant fashion community. It's like Russian geopolitics. There are Armenians, Tatars, Chechen people, Georgians, Ukrainians... but we are all one nation, with one history and with one dream. Well that's how I would love it to be, no wars, no fights, just love and compassion for the beauty of every single ethnic group.
...So is the fashion. There are Bohemians, Margiela Hipsters, Avant-gardes, Generation "Fur", the Gold diggers, the Label lovers, the Over-the-Top people, the Classy ones and the Style masters. They are all RUSSIAN FASHION! I could make some tea and blinis and start a 12 h talk about my favourite fashionistas/-os. But I'll try to keep it short for you, maybe you'll get inspired. ;)
1. Ksenia Sobchak:
Every Russian probably goes now like: "Surprise, surprise! How creative!". But I see her to be the origin, kind of. ;) I was a young girl when I started watching her Muz TV show. There were two things I loved about it: Her humor and her stunning walk-in-wardrobe. The other thing is that I'm impressed by her personal style evolution. I agree, style and taste is something genetic. ;) But still it has to be explored. I love the ones who transform and take time to figure out their sense of fashion. Ksenia went from the head-to-toe black and white skull McQueen-look to a clean and stunning classiness with folk charm. And now she's rocking politics... oh Lord )))
2. Svetlana Bondarchuk:
There are three things hot about Svetlana: Her body, her husband ;P and her style! S is always classy, always hip and always up to date. There's no way to call her unfashioned! She just knows the business. You know, fashion is a science and an art, and Sveta totally owns it.
3. Keti Topuria:
Ok first of all: I love everything about her. Her simplicity, her voice, her moves on stage, her beauty, her body and Gosh her outfits! She's the reason for why I watch Russian concerts on TV... so excited for her to perform with her band A'Studio! These outfits are insanely beautiful!
4. Ravshana Kurkova:
Ravshana looks like a Eastern duchess! The grace and perfection of her beauty is indescribable! Her fashion is hipster chic! She loves suits, clean cut dresses, jeans, sneakers, leather jackets and pureness. She doesn't need this certain "too much", because her charisma already does the job.
1. TIMATI:
Ok, hands down he's the one! He's the Russian Kanye West. He loves the labels, loves the mixing and knows the art of combining. He is smart, strong, masculine, talented and hot. Perfect conditions to become a male fashion icon. And the fact that all the guys in Moscow nightclubs look like Timati, speaks for itself. To me, Timati is someone I admire, love, respect and look up to. For living his dream out loud and looking always drop dead fashioned and stunning! (with GF Mila)
2. Konstantin Krukov:
Just like the majority of Russian girls, I can't react in another way but "Ohhhh <3" when I see Konstantin on screen. My Mum's biggest dream is me marrying Krukov. lol Me wearing Lanvin and KK wearing Gucci. ;) This man is pure joy. He's acting, designing fine jewellery and spending the majority of his time being beautiful. ;) Ok I love his suits, his clean elegance in a masculine way and his incredible gaze. But seriously Kostya: "What the hell is going on with you carrying around this Louis wallet like you're Carrie B and it's your clutch or something?" Leave it in the car, the drinks are for free anyways.
3. Marat Safin:
Just today I talked to my beautiful stunning girl Martina (shout out to you honey ;)) about the sexiness of tennis. Remember Kanye singing about a hot chick with an a** like Serena? Yeah tennis is H to the O to the T. I watch the US Open, the French Open... like every "Open". ;) All that in order to check out sexy Rafa Nadal or any other hot bloke. Now we need to search for the hotties, 'cause the hottest Beau has left the court. Marat and Maria. Sounds great right? haha ;) And as I'm also 1/4 Tatar it makes perfectly sense.))) Ok so let's talk about Marat: You know what, no! Just google him, that will explain everything... oh yeah and nice style btw)))
4. Danila Polyakov:
Danila is crazy. The Red Head Beast! The former supermodel grabs the scissors and cuts his 3000 euro Gaultier boots. That's not the normal case! ;) But he is so unique, so brave and so stunning, that it makes him irreplaceable for the Moscow fashion scene. (don't google him, it's very weird! lol))
5. Vlad Lisovets:
Vlad has the most beautiful hands I've ever seen! And hands mean a lot to me in terms of male beauty. His style? It's incredible. Black leather shirt, slight plaid beige suit, bright sneaker/ socks combo, that's a classic Lisovets.))) Love him talking about fashion, I could listen to that for hours!
6. Denis Simachev:
Lately I talked to a fashioned Russian bloke in the cliche Munich nightclub Pacha.) He goes like: "Who's your favourite Russian designer?" I said, the Russian Westwood.))) Vivienne Westwood's Nr.1 inspo? Everything British: history, art and royalty. Simachev's inspo? Everything Russian: history, art and royalty. ))) Did I mentioned I love cars? He has the most poppin' one! <3 Love Denis, love his line, love his flair.
This would be the end. Of course there are many many many more! But these are my favos... I guess. Sure, every Russian supermodel belongs here, but this is supposed to be only Moscow, you girls are more all around the world ;) Oh and I have to mention Sati Spivakova and Sofiko Shevardnadze. It's sooo worth to check them out! ;) Hope you like Russian fashion now too.)))
Jacket: H&M

Latex leggings: LNA U.S.A (Kim Kardashian's favourite leggings)
Song of the day:
Kanye's masterpiece "Touch the Sky" mixed by my favourite London Beau, Mark "Gorgeous" Ronson
Models. Models are as much a part of the industry as Dolce is a part of Gabbana. These days plenty of girls from all over the world stick to the dream of capturing the fashion world like a Adriana, Natalia or Daria. Today the term model has a total different tone. Guess only every 40th pedestrian knows the name of the girl in the new YSL ad. Even this years Victoria's Secret Show turned out to be a "manage it to identify at least 10 models"- game. It seems like there are more models than politicians, more models than teachers and more models than engineers at the moment. How did this change came along? Does this fact tell us that there are more beautiful girls these days or that the branch modeling became less limited? Being honest, I can say one thing for sure: I love these supermodel girls. Because they are not afraid of public and most importantly not afraid of themselves. The girls who manage it to climb up to the supermodel throne are the fierce once, the strong once, the different ones. My fav' supermodels of the 21st century? Well definitely Daria Werbowy, Doutzen Kroes, Chanel Iman, Karlie Kloss and Natalia Vodianova. (they just came to my mind first) The reason for why I go for these girls? They remind me of the greatest era in the model industry.
... The 90's! These stunning goddesses like Claudia, Naomi, Linda, Carla or Nadja, were so much more than regular ad campaign girls. They were men's objects of desire & examples for female perfection. Those were real killer bodies! Fit, curvy, thin but yet feminine. They loved to dress up expensive, party hard and date the most desired men in the world. Now they are mothers, billionaires, business women and wives of Presidents, movie- and rock stars. My mother always used to keep her favourite Vogue issues, the ones with the most beautiful covers in order to decorate the apartment by putting them on her desk or arranging them on the floor. When I was a little girl with short hair (I used to have the Suri Cruise haircut ;) ) and big dreams, I spend hours staring at these girls. To me they just looked like pure royalty. Getting older, I started buying old Vogues, Elles and other high fashion magazines from the late 80's/90's on flea markets. No fashion lover should ever forget the beauty and magic of this decade.
I guess the most impressive thing about it, is that they made themselves immortal. Living forever is one of the greatest dreams of human existence. All of these great creators of arts and science, managed to figure out the secret of an eternal life. Michael Jackson is not alive anymore. But every time someone plays his songs, he's miraculously coming back to life.
So guys never forget the achievements of fashion and arts from previous decades. Let's pay tribute to them. ;)
Enjoy this sunny day dolls xx
Ladies it's time again. It's a designer-Thursday at H&M. Every single time I'm super excited. Getting some designer couture for such a price? That's the most wonderful change that came along with the phenomenon of globalisation. (We're talking about this topic non stop in school, so globalisation is constantly on the tip of my tongue right now ;) ) Since the Karl Lagerfeld/ H&M collaboration, I'm thrilled when I hear the great announcement of a new couturier who's about to follow in the steps of Lagerfeld. My favourite so far? I guess it was Lanvin. So delightful! There's just something going on with me and Lanvin, you know? Alber Elbaz is hopefully the one to design my wedding dress one day. ;) I'm just like Pharrell, a total Lanvin-Lover. But I think I've brought the most items during the sale of the Matthew Williamson line. I'll definitely do a post on my H&MxDesiner pieces soon, as it is a topic right now.)
So back to MARNI:
Lovely collection! <3 I discovered Marni a couple of years ago... I've seen a beautiful fashionista in a street style video on youtube.com. She had this stunning bag. When she got asked about the brand, she simply said "Marni, of course!" Like "hello are you living under a rock?". And I was like "Maria! Someone is so convinced of the fame of a label... and you don't know it!". Next thing I did? Googled it and brought a book about Italian designers, which included Marni. When I heard that Marni would make a collabo with H&M I obviously couldn't wait for it.
Well, there are still some things, which were not available in our shop. But luckily... I got them online!!! That is such a miracle, 'cause normally on a designer x H&M Thursday you get something like: "We're sorry, our service is currently not available". My tip: go online like very early in the morning, 6 am or something. Come on guys! It's fashion, its worth to get up early!)
After a long night around the city, clubbing, laughing and having fun, there's nothing better than starting the day with a delicious breakfast and a couple of episodes of Sex and the City.
SATC is the one and only guilty TV fashion pleasure for me. Don't get me wrong, I love Gossip Girl, but I feel like SATC is so much more than just a fashion featuring show. SATC really taught me fashion. Ans trust me, fashion has to be studied... just like maths or biology. This show established so many trends during the last decade.
Bang Ray Ban
Ray Ban sunglasses for example, today you see them all around the globe. The brand exists for ages while the hype started approximately 12 years ago. The majority doesn't know that New York's hippest fashionista Carrie Bradshaw created the Ray Ban Cult wearing classic Aviators in the first episode of the second season.
Fashion News
What about the epic Galliano paper print? In the summer season there are still hundreds of Russian logotype lovers who show off their CD Galliano beach suits. Who made this trend? Carrie Bradshaw! Remember Carrie having lunch with Big's ex-wife Natasha in the 17th episode of season 3? There it is: The sincethen legendary news paper Dior gown,a lifetime tribute to the great work Galliano did for Dior. So unique and stunning that it even appeared in the second SATC movie.
Fur & Glamour
Fur. I love fur. It's so edgy and so classy at the same time. Carrie's fur coats are a piece of fashion history. The long one featured in the early seasons became her statement piece. It makes the show's last outfit. (season 6) Who said that you're not allowed to wear fur during the spring? ;)
Baguette isn't French, it's Italian baby!
Who made this iconic Fendi bag the most wanted piece of the new millennium? Exactly, Carrie & the girls. These days we love our Chanels, Balenciagas, Louis Vs, Mulberrys and Wangs. But this Italian bag should never be forgotten. Here's the purse-by-decade guide: 1950's: Chanel 2.55; 1960's: Hermes; 1970's: Gucci; 1980's: Versace; 1990's: Fendi; 2000's: hmm... Louis? ;) Well Carrie has them all. But the Fendi baguette is her favourite "plus one".
Manolo Blow
OK let's talk the Blahnik. These shoes are pure allure. They make their owner strong, feminine, stunning or like Carrie would say "fabulous". There are too many fantastic shoe designers featured on the show. Bradshaw was also one of the first to wear Louboutins. (Nothing gets me like a Louboutin ;) ) It was the last episode of season four. The star of it, was a gorgeous pink stiletto. A shoe so perfect and unique that it makes every fashionista's heart skip a beat. (That's actually really what happens to me walking by my favourite boutique in Munich Theresa every single time ;) )
But beside all the Zanotti, Loubi, Choo and Rossi, Carrie will always stick to her Manolos. 'Cause the Manolo... is her.
Chanel Love
Sure Carrie wears Chanel with pleasure, but Sam is the ultimate Chanel Queen! Remember her Beau Richard Wright? That's what I call a present: The most beautiful Chanel wallet for the most outrageous and wild fashionista of New York. Every third episode there's the number 5 or a Chanel logo dangling down her ears. These are vintage fashion diamonds! I would pair them with a little black dress and some heeled black ankle boots. All classy, no cut-out on the top, only legs ;) But Sam pops huge Chanel earrings and bags with... guess what? Yes, a bright neon pink suit. Oh Samantha, how could someone not adore you hun'?
Daily Couture
When I go out for lunch, I wear shiny dresses, accessories, popping bags, fur, silk... all depending on my mood. There was a time in my life, I would have never done that. That's just how our society can effect us. Sometimes we think it's wrong to wear a certain thing just because it makes other people look at us. When I was 14 years old I've spend hours going through one of my favourite fashion books, "Kiss and Tell". It features all of the most impressive looks of Carrie&Co. Carrie wears everything she likes. Fashion with no rules.
My style reflects more the classic kind of fashioned look , but if I see someone walking down the street wearing an eye-catching piece, even or especially if It's something I would never wear... it just makes my day. I love Munich. But I wish people would appreciate a certain fashion diversity and individuality more than they do now. When I was in Paris, I got inspired by my favourite Bradshaw looks: I wore a navy blue silk dress, a big pearl necklace with an even bigger flower pin, 14 cm navy stilettos & open hair. I don't think I would ever pull that off here. ;) But the French... they smiled and said "Fabuleuse!", "Mademoiselle, c'est magnifique", "Oh beauté!"... there is no guy, no dress, no compliment that makes me feel better than the warmness of this city. Now I got it, I need a guy who is able to make me feel more beautiful than Paris can. ;)
So girls, be strong enough to make the street a runway, a runway featuring YOUR collection every day again. This is why we love these shows so much. Not because of the clothes those women have, but because of their self-confidence. I wish all of us, one day, to be just as proud of ourselves as these four NY fashionistas are. Go ahead dolls!
It's very difficult for me to name my favourite decade fashion wise. I love the 90's... hip hop scene fashion, the Fendi baguette bag, the early Dolce pieces... you know, all the Sex and the City looks ;)
Oh and the 20's... elegance, gorgeous evening gowns, sequins, glamour...
But my recent inspiration must be the 50's. I love the red lipstick, the pin ups, the coolness and sexy playfulness. So here is my 50's make up look. :)
My new addiction is featured in it, the YSL Rouge pur Couture glossy stain Nr.11.
